We provide the latest technology in aerial drone cinematography. We have established new techniques and technology designed to achieve the unbelievable shots. We fly better, faster and closer than anyone else in this emerging field of film. We offer a wide variety of drones suited for your filming cinematography needs with knowledge in both the aesthetics of the frames captured and of dynamic motion. This cinematography knowledge is complemented by experience and expertise in drone control flight. This allows a true artistry in producing stunning images for film professionals.
We offer multi camera aerial live streaming services. We can capture multiple feeds from any of our camera sources, whether they are mounted on drones, hand held gimbals, action cams or even locked off tripod mounted cameras. We can edit these multiple feeds together in real time and then output the final live video to your internal network or we can use special software to encode it on the fly and live stream it to any the popular social media and web video platforms on line. We can even add titles, 3D motion graphics, credits and perform simple color correction on the fly.
There is virtually no delay from the moment we capture the action to it hitting your consumer’s eyeballs. We also record the edited stream and all the original source footage for archival and further post production purposes as required.
We can even stream to multiple networks at the same time.
Cable Camera Systems (Cable Cams)
Sometimes a flying camera drone won’t work and here are some really good reasons such as Venue/Site Limitations, not enough room to fly a drone or there are too many overhead obstacles to guarantee a safe flight path, Audience/Performer Safety, audience or your cast is too close OR directly below the camera (remember, drones can’t fly over the public), Shot Repeatability or you need to be able to precisely repeat a tracking shot many times, say at a sporting event.
The good news is that Altitude Filmworks has the solution. It is called the Cable Camera and it works. It builds on many of the technologies we use in our flying drones but it is a bit different.
Here is how it works: Our rigging team creates an overhead highline system – like a zipline but engineered for a camera and trolley system that weighs between 15 and 30lbs. This overhead highline runs the entire length of your desired shot. We can either use existing anchor points at your site (trees, stages, mountains etc.) or, if this is not possible, we can bring freestanding towers that can be set up to support our overhead rigging.
Then a radio-controlled trolley is attached to the highline which can be maneuvered with accuracy back and forth along the highline. The trolley supports our camera systems. This gives us the ability to ‘fly’ a camera anywhere along this highline system and point it in any direction we like, all while the gimbal maintains a perfectly fluid shot every time.
We can even create cable camera systems that allow for vertical travel. Examples of this would be for following a rock climber from very close in or to travel up the side of a building. Cable cameras can give you flawless 2D flight and are the perfect solution for sporting
